A day in Melbourne

Just thought I’d take some pics to and from work today just to give readers an idea of what I see each and everyday. Some interesting pics in here I think, I’ve included comments under stand out pics 🙂

Rainy morning in Melbourne 😦

Bourke St. Mall

The bane of my existence for the past 2 months…Tutankhamun @ Melbourne Museum 🙂

The Myki ticket system that causes everyone grief but is supposed to be cheaper than buying a normal tram ticket.

All the leaves are brown…

And the skies are grey…

On the way back home through the city, top of Chinatown.

The Last Emperor

Her Majesty’s Theatre and Dr. Zhivago

Looking down Chinatown – Little Bourke St.

At Russell St. down Chinatown

Cooking it up @ Chinatown!

Arcade in Bourke St.

Rocking to Guitar Freaks 🙂

Cool steps leading up to an even cooler clothes store in a shopping arcade off Chinatown

Closer shot of the steps

And the shop that has all of Melbourne talking, Zara

Swarm of people queueing up for Zara on a Friday night

Masses of people by the windows waiting to get in

The weather can’t keep people away 🙂 FYI, Zara is in Bourke St. Mall just in case you didn’t know and were from out of town 🙂

Looking down Elizabeth St. towards Flinders St.

And now looking up the other end of Elizabeth St. out of the city

Hope everyone has enjoyed the little tour around my day, it’s usually pretty much what it’s like 🙂 But with better weather and not so freezing conditions!

City buildings, always changing :)

Just a couple of pics today, first up is the old David Jones building, not the current one being used but the one that hardly got any traffic anyways. So it looks like it’s been torn apart from the inside out maybe for another David Jones store or possibly for apartments which wouldn’t surprise me. Inner city living is so desirable if you can afford it 🙂

David Jones?

Next up is the much talked about and lately, much delayed, Zara store in the Bourke St. Mall…no one seems to know exactly when this will be competed and as I walk past there everyday, I have to admit that it doesn’t look like much is happening 😦 But like everything, it’ll be up and running before we know it. We’ll wonder how we managed before it existed 🙂
